“Evolutionary Biochemistry” paper published

My postdoctoral advisor and I just published a paper in Nature Reviews Genetics describing the nascent field of “evolutionary biochemistry,” which addresses questions at the interface of the traditional disciplines of evolutionary biology and biochemistry (biophysics, structural biology, etc.).  We describe the history of the interaction between the fields, some novel insights that have emerged from their synthesis, and some deep questions about protein biochemistry and evolution that can now, for the first time, be addressed.  Check it out here (pdf).
